I tried this out at the Munich Tech fair. I was not impressed by it at all.
Yoostar Entertainment System is the latest onslaught from bland Technology companies, featuring gadgets and applications that will make you overtly excited, as they use the same catchphrase from the 1970′s used to describe crap from that era, “the revolutionary new entertainment system”.
If all the televisions, digital cameras, MP3 players, cell phones, computers, and more weren’t enough for bored people, this thing will erode your imagination even further.
Frankly stated, it doesn’t do anything. Yeah, so it put me up in a pixel heavy format with some dumb movie. So what? I guarantee that in one month everyone will get bored of this and move on to the next new “revolutionary new entertainment system”.
For those willing to listen to reason, save your money, buy a few books, board games, creative puzzles, etc and spend time with your kids at a park while the trees are still alive.

Man, I’ve been hunting this thing down for 5 days now. Why is it a Best Buy exclusive? they are the only ones that seem to openly carry it. I checked online,and it said that they were in stock,but when I went down there,someone told my wife that they are an “online only” item,which is bull,so I talked with someone who looked it up,and they are backordered in EVERY Best Buy,state wide….wow…so the only way to get one is online! NO!!!!..so I tried to get it through Amazon,but Amazon is giving me problems about my payment method ( I made a regular Visa payment,come on !!!! ). What do I have to do to get one of these things, I’m just gonna give up soon

This product is a new take on karaoke. With the included camera, remote control, software, and green screen it actually puts you into the movie scene you choose alongside the big screen celebrities.
It is probably the most fun party game in the marketplace. Unlike karaoke or guitar hero, this actually gets people out of their shell and showing their personalities.
The software is surprisingly seamless and intuitive and results in a very addictive product. It won’t be long till this is showing up at parties everywhere and resulting in new youtube stars.

We were given one of these for Christmas 09 and were very excited at first! Started to install it on the laptop – installation went ok, but our video card wasn’t up to snuff. So, installed it on the desktop – not enough RAM. Bought and installed the RAM, reinstalled the software which worked. Then the camera that comes with the kit wasn’t recognized by my computer – (although the laptop with crummy video card could read it!). I’m waiting for YooStar to email me a driver.
I realize that most of this is the slightly older computer system that I have, but really it should not that THAT hard to install this and use it.
I love the idea of this, and with younger kids, I know we would have fun with it. Right now, installation seems more trouble than it is worth.

I was a bit disappointed with Yoostar. The camera supplied does not work with my PC even though my computer is only about a year old. Secondly, the system requires internet to register. I don’t have the internet but it looks like I’m going to have to get it if I want my Yoostar to work.
Yoostar is sending me a new camera in an estimated ten days, about the time when my free trial ends and I have to register through the internet. When I asked Yoostar if I could register over the phone they said, no just on the Internet. Disappointing!
